This Sunday night in one of the cellblocks in one of the most secured prisons in the north east of the Argentinean city Santiago del Estero, a fire broke out and killed 29 convicts.
These 29 convicts died brutally while they were choking to death.
Only 10 persons where transported to the hospital with bad breathing and other health problems. This was stated by the local authorities and the television station C5N.
The media stated that their where fights in the cellblocks and some of the mattresses where lighted up with fire on purpose to escape from prison.
The security guards of the cellblock stated that the prisoners where trying to cause a confusion to break out for their escape.
Outside of the prison family members of the prisoners where in panic and the police used rubber bullets and mace to keep them away.
The authorities said that nobody had escaped the prison.
